Static IP addresses and imported Virtual Machines

Hi, I have SCVMM R2 and my hosts are 2012R2.

I have a bunch of  VM Network configured, not using virtualisation just mapped to VLANs.  I also have a bunch of VMs that have been migrated from my old 2008R2 hosts.  All these VMs have manually assigned static addresses.

The problem I'm having is when I live migrate a VM between hosts in the same cluster I get the following errors on the job log (the move is successful, I just get the error in the log)

-------------------

Error (23801)
No available connection to selected VM Network can be found.

Recommended Action
Ensure host NICs have connection to the fabric network on which VM Network is created.

Error (23753)
The virtual machine or tier load balancer configuration requires an IP pool and there are no appropriate IP pools accessible from the host.

Recommended Action
Select a host with access to an appropriate IP pool and try the operation again.

------------

Is there a way to say that the IP address on this VM is managed externally to VMM?

If I assign an IP pool and assign it to my VM, what will happen to the VMs that already have addresses in the range?  I don't want the servers to change their addresses yet.

Cheers,

Stephen.
